What is Salvation?

A biblical definition of salvation is forgiveness, rescue, safety, deliverance, liberation, healing, prosperity and restoration.

God the Creator gave the first man, Adam, dominion over the earth and all right   to rule. But Adam chose not to obey the laws that God had established, thereby resulting in high treason or the ultimate betrayal.  In doing so, Adam bowed his knee instead to Satan, the enemy of God.  This act of betrayal gave to Satan the dominion and authority that was meant for man.  The curse of sin came into the world separating mankind from God.  God sent His only Son, Jesus as the Second Adam to reconcile us to God, to redeem our lives from sin and to rescue us from Satan’s dominion.

The name JESUS is literally interpreted, “He will save”. To believe in Jesus as your Savior is “to be saved”!  Faith in Jesus as Savior rescues us from the curse of sin and the consequences of sin.  In relationship with Him, we have salvation. Jesus is the cure or antidote for sin.

Why do I need a Savior?

Every human being born after Adam’s betrayal came into the world a sinner. According to Romans 3:23 the wages that sin pays is death.  Without Jesus as our Savior we remain separated from God having to bear the curse and punishment of our sins throughout eternity. We NEED a Savior!

So then, Jesus came to die on the cross, bearing our consequences.  He saved us from our sins.  When we enter into relationship with Him, we get salvation.

What Must I do to be Saved?

Romans 10:9 says “that if you confess with your mouth the Lord Jesus and believe in your heart that God raised Him from the dead, you will be saved.”

To Receive Jesus as Savior, please pray this prayer:

“Father God I thank you that you love me so much that You sent Your Son, Jesus to die and pay the penalty for my sins. I believe that He died on the cross for me, was buried and rose victorious on the third day. I believe that through His death, burial and resurrection I am free, forgiven, cleansed and made righteous.  I thank You for my new life in Christ.  In Jesus’ name, Amen.

You have now been translated from the kingdom of darkness into the Kingdom of Light! Welcome to the Family!
